How to play Daily Common Five
Daily Common Five is a compact guessing game built around a familiar five-letter word. The clue gives you a starting point, and each submitted guess adds information about the answer's letters and their positions.
- Read the clue above the board and enter exactly five letters in the guess field.
- Choose Submit guess or press Enter. Green means the letter is in the correct position; gold means the letter belongs in another position.
- Combine the feedback from your previous guesses and submit a new possibility. You have six guesses to find the answer.
- The round ends when you find the word or use all six guesses. The result then reveals the answer.
Plan your next move
Keep a green letter in place while exploring the other positions. For a gold letter, choose a new position that also fits the clue. If you are unsure of several letters, a guess that tests new possibilities can be more informative than changing just one unconfirmed letter.
Read feedback for repeated letters carefully. One confirmed occurrence does not mean every copy of that letter in a guess belongs in the answer. Use the clue to narrow the meaning as well as the spelling.
Does an incomplete entry use a guess?
An entry with the wrong number of letters is rejected with a message asking for exactly five letters. A complete submitted guess advances the guess counter.
Can I keep guessing after the round finishes?
The input closes when the word is solved or the six-guess limit is reached. Use another word game for a fresh challenge after finishing.
