How to play National Parks Word Search

National Parks Word Search pairs a list of park names with a letter grid. Your task is to locate every listed name, using observation and spelling rather than answering geography questions.

  1. Look at the word bank and choose one name to search for.
  2. Find its first letter in the grid, then select that letter and the word's last letter.
  3. Words form straight lines and may run horizontally, vertically or diagonally, in either direction.
  4. A correct selection highlights the word and marks it in the word bank. Find all listed names to finish.

Plan your next move

Begin with a name that has a distinctive first letter or an unusual pair of neighboring letters. Once you find a possible starting point, check each straight direction before moving to the next matching letter. This is often easier than scanning for an entire long name at once.

When only a few names remain, work through the grid in rows or columns so you know which areas you have checked. A letter that belongs to one found word can also lie on another word's path.

Do I drag across every letter?

Use two selections: the first letter and then the last. You do not need to select each letter between them. The game checks the straight line between the endpoints.

What if the selected line is wrong?

The game shows a message and clears the starting selection. Choose a new first letter and try again. The found-word count increases only when a listed word is recognized.
